Her work

Fátima de Juan (Palma, Mallorca, 1984)

2024, Mallorca

Acrylic and spray on canvas, 190 x 140 cm.

Fátima de Juan’s work is distinguished by a direct and expressive figuration that, at the same time, explores emotions and human relationships. In this painting, she contrasts tenderness and firmness as complementary forms of self-love. Thus, the work is associated with the curatorial group Life, Trace and Impact, where the female figure, with an introspective gaze and a symbolic gesture, expresses the need to set boundaries in order to explore self-awareness and the construction of identity. At the same time, the flowers that emerge from the hair symbolise inner growth, even in the face of adversity.

The perspective it adds to the collection:

We have incorporated Fátima de Juan into the collection for her fundamental role in the beginnings of urban art in Barcelona and, at the same time, for the uniqueness and strength of her pictorial language. She combines the brush and spray with great precision, constructing atmospheres through gradients, lights, and shadows that reveal a delicate and expressive brushstroke. At the same time, her work is rooted in urban imagery, underground culture, and contemporary symbolism, addressing emotional, intimate, and collective themes that deeply connect with the viewer.
