This scene reinterprets the Last Supper from a contemporary perspective that, at the same time, questions the power structures of late capitalism. Instead of Christ and the apostles, there is a table filled with brands, political icons and identities, turning the spiritual space into a media and ideological stage. Thus, diversity, symbolised by the LGBTI flag, is transformed into a surface of consumption rather than a space of liberation. In this way, the work is situated within the curatorial axis Irony, criticism and subversion, where art becomes a critical satire on the commodification of identity, resistance and truth in contemporary culture.
The perspective brought to the collection:
The incorporation of Okuda into the collection is based, first and foremost, on the construction of a unique and immediately recognizable visual universe, articulated through geometry, color, and symbolic figuration within a pop surrealist aesthetic. At the same time, his work addresses issues such as identity, diversity, and social criticism, so that formal appeal is combined with a discourse that questions the structures of power and the values of contemporary society. Thus, his practice not only visually seduces but also invites a critical and reflective reading.
