Mina Hamada

Her work

Mina Hamada (Louisiana, USA, 1981)

2026, Barcelona

Acrylic on canvas, 200 x 200 cm.

Mina Hamada’s work is characterised by an abstract and colourful language, influenced by the organic nature of natural forms. Her creative process is based on improvisation; as she progresses, she selects the colours and builds the composition intuitively, freely deciding how to articulate shapes and chromaticisms in relation to the elements already present and the spaces still empty. Her works express a state of stillness and inner balance, conveying the enjoyment and disconnection that have accompanied the pictorial process. Thus, the work is part of the curatorial core Perception, rhythm and graphic language, as the composition generates spaces of calm and harmony, inviting a sensory and emotional experience that encourages the imagination to flow.

The perspective it brings to the collection:

Mina Hamada is essential to the collection, because of her role in the early days of urban art in Barcelona and her unique pictorial language, abstract and colourful, with organic forms. Her creative process stands out, being based on improvisation; as the work progresses, the artist selects the colours and intuitively decides how to articulate forms and colour ranges, filling the empty spaces with freedom and sensitivity. Her compositions create spaces of calm and harmony, conveying serenity and enjoyment, and invite a contemplative, sensory immersion that enriches and expands the collection’s expressive boundaries.
