His characters: strange, psychedelic, and charged with irony, define a universe of their own, influenced by comics and cinema. David’L often works on found surfaces, such as antique tapestries or the walls of abandoned houses, using their textures to create pieces with a strong visual presence. His works reinterpret popular figures, for example from the world of cartoons, transforming them through a personal, unsettling, and recognizable style. In this piece, the well-known character SpongeBob appears, revisited through this particular perspective.
